A collection of free resources for biological recording, which will be expanded over time. This includes help getting grid references online, using a GPS for recording, and equipment such as microscopes you can borrow without charge.
In addition, recording resources as described below are available for use by appointment at Tullie House Museum in Carlisle.
Field Guides and Keys
We also have resources available in partnership with our colleagues at Tullie House Museum and the Carlisle Natural History Society which recorders may make use of at the museum by appointment. The Museum Natural Sciences reference collections are also available for identification and research purposes.
