CBDC Equipment Loan Scheme
Over time CBDC plans to build up a collection of recording equipment available for loan for free to local recorders, groups and for identification and other recording events and workshops. Currently we have two microscopes available to borrow for up to three months without charge. See also additional recording resources available by visiting Tullie House Museum in Carlisle.
Recorders may borrow a microscope (Binocular, 45deg Head, Dual Magnification 10X & 30X) for identification of Cumbrian specimens for up to three months at a time without charge. Please see the terms and conditions for more information and fill out a loan request form if you would like to borrow one. Alternatively, a third microscope is available at all times at Tullie House Museum in Carlisle. Please contact the recording officer if you would like to come in and use it.

As part of a joint venture with Cumbria Moth Group, members of Cumbria Moth Group Yahoo Forum and local recorders willing to join the forum may borrow, for up to 2 weeks at a time without charge, a portable Skinner trap (15W actinic bulb) in a package which includes a battery and battery charger, as well as a copy of Waring and Townsend's 2009 revised edition of 'a Field Guide to the Moths of Great Britain and Ireland'. This represents a excellent opportunity for those wanting to try out moth trapping before investing in equipment or for those wanting to increase / start recording nocturnal moths in areas without access to mains power. Please see the terms and conditions for more information and fill out a loan request form if you would like to borrow the trap.
